Teaching Easton to Can.:)

Today Easton decided it was time for him to help me can the last of the green beans. He even came out in the garden and helped me pick what was left. Sad to say I think this is my last batch of green beans. They are not growing any more.
His favorite part of all was shoving them into the jars. He was not packing them very tight and kept wanting to start a new jar.

This was our finished product. I love to see them when they are all done and can go on the shelf for our year supply. It makes me so proud of myself.

While we were out picking green beans we decided to pick the tomatoes also. This is what we brought in and decided we better bottle them too while we where at it.

And here they are finished. Again a sight to be excited about. I have really loved having a garden and being able to bottle all of it. My kids think it is the coolest thing and love to go and pick what ever they want out of the garden to eat. Thank goodness they aren't like me and they will eat anything. Now it is off to peaches, and pears.

Good for you Traci! I wish I had a garden so I could can too. You are a good mom to teach your kids how to help you with it. I'm impressed at everything you get done Traci, you are amazing!!

Wow Traci...you should feel proud. That's hard work, but it totally pays off when you get to pull those of the shelf instead of a nasty can of green beans from the store. They're just not as good. I remember helping my mom when I was little. My favorite was snapping the green beans :) haha...Someday I'll have to learn how to do the rest of it so I can teach my kids too. Those times makes good memories :)

That's awesome! I hope to have a bigger garden next year so I can do the same. I bet it just feels so good when you are done to see all that in the pantry!
