Our Trip to Illinois
Cole and I got to go to Illinois for a week, and we had so much fun. Cole actually went to go hunting for White tail. As for me I got to hang out with the girls and go site seeing. We stayed at the Harpoles Heartland Lodge. It was such a beautiful place. It was also pretty cold, but that did not stop us from having a good time. All the girls got to go to Springfield and see where President Lincoln grew up and lived. It was so neat to go and learn more about him. We all hung out, played cards, pool, slept, and ate, ate, and ate some more . The food there was great. On our way home we stopped at Carthage Jail, and then went on to Nauvoo and spent a day there. It is such an awesome and humbling experience to go and walk where our Prophet Joseph Smith walked. And to see the hardships that they faced. I don't know if I would have been brave enough to cross the river in the dead of the winter. They left in February and I can only imagine how much colder it would have been then compared to now. What a great man. Thank you Elden and Jackie for inviting us. Thank you for all your hard work to pull off such and enjoyable trip. We loved it and hope to do it again sometime.
